Mom & Daughter PinchMe Boxes - Our Free Samples

Hello,

I signed up for PinchMe.com which is a fun website where you are able to log in for Sample Tuesday each month for the chance to receive some free samples to test and review on the PinchMe site. They have been building out the site recently to include surveys and other opportunities to contribute to the community but their main focus is still the monthly sample boxes with a variety of awesome goodies to test and review. You start by signing up and completing your profile so that they are able to match you with the offers that are best for you. Then on Sample Tuesday at the right time, log in and see if there are any samples available for you to add to your box, then checkout and wait for the goodies to arrive. This is completely free, you do not pay shipping or anything, I don’t even think there is a place to input payment information. After you receive products from PinchMe, they will have survey questions on their website for you to fill out but they don’t seem to be available long so make sure to complete them quickly. I have messed up and let a bunch of the survey questions expire by accident, I think this hurt my chances of receiving a box for a couple of months but it seems to be giving me samples again for the last few months so I will be sure to do the surveys this time.

My mom and I had each received a number of PinchMe boxes that we intended to open and review together but time kept slipping away from us and finally I figured I had better open these myself.  We are pretty excited to have received all of these great items to try out and we both have a couple of extra boxes that have been ordered that will be arriving in the next few weeks.  From these boxes out whole family was able to enjoy something new and I think especially our pets found a few new favorite items.

My mom used the coupons that we received for the hair dye and she liked it well enough.  She needed both coupons because she has very long thick hair so she always needs two boxes of dye to get full coverage. She picked a brownish/reddish color and it came out looking great and didn't look splotchy.  It really depends on what look you are going for with hair dye because this one was great for an all over natural look but not so much for a bold color change.  The color looked nice both in the house and in the sun but unfortunately it faded quicker than she would have liked for it to.  She typically uses other permanent dyes from Sally Beauty and is used to longer lasting color so I don't think she will continue to purchase this in the future but it was great for the short term.

These cards are super fun to send for absolutely no reason but to say hello to someone you care about. These days with the ease of social media we connect constantly yet the human touch gets lost in the mix and there's nothing quite like receiving a hand written card.  It's just one of those things that has become so much more special as it seems to be fading away.  I will be sending one of these to a Great Uncle who lives out of state.

Our dog absolutely loved these.. but then again, what dog wouldn't go crazy for some delicious wet food in gravy.  Our dog typically eats just dry food, we occasionally give him wet food but not on a regular basis so he really loved this.  Having some dry food around the house is great to spruce up his meal a bit every now and then.  I love these new soft packages because they are so much easier to store and I honestly like the smaller amount that way I don't have to try to save the food in the can for later.  I also like that you can just squeeze the sauce out of the package as oppose to having to scrape it out of the can so that was helpful because I really don't like to touch the food myself.  I will absolutely be purchasing these for my dog in the future and just to keep at home for him for when he needs a special treat.

My cats absolutely loved their Purely Fancy Feast Filets.  They were both crying at me as I was trying to open the package and tear apart the filet for them.  I used a couple of forks and shredded the chicken filet in a similar way that I shred beef or pork for sandwiches at home for the family. This filet seemed to be a very good quality, to be honest it looked better than chicken that I have received in restaurants before so I felt comfortable feeding it to my cats and was sure that they would love it. They ate up the chicken and appeared to love it but it seemed like a lot of chicken for even two cats and I felt that they were letting quite a bit go to waste.  I think this could have been used for multiple occasions had I saved some of it to begin with.  If I were to purchase these in the future I would now know not to give them the whole thing at one time.

My husband tried these and said that they were ok, we had received two sample packets and one of them is still lingering around the house because no one else has picked it up....apparently they weren't to die for.  I think they were a fun novelty product but I don't think they will stand the test of time.  We would rather have a package of regular flavored skittles any day.

My Mom Said: The slim fast bar was very good and satisfying. I don’t like bars that are very dense but these are easy to eat and very tasty. They are great if you have a sweets craving but want to stay healthy.

Unfortunately for this one, I forgot about the coupon and I let it expire before I was able to pick up the cat litter but Tidy Cats is my preferred litter for my cats as it absorbs the best in my opinion and it helps to reduce the stinky smell.  I was really upset about forgetting this coupon as I can always use extra cat litter but I now that I know about this Free & Clear littler I will definitely have to check it out the next time I am shopping for pet products.  My only concern is that often it is the chemicals that help with the scent and absorption so I would hope that this litter would perform as well as the other Tidy Cats litters I have purchased before.

Ripplestreet_ Kikkoman Kids Cooking Party_ Free

I signed up for Houseparty.fun which recently changed to Ripplestreet.com. It is an awesome community where you are able to set-up your personal profile then Head over to the party applications page to start applying to host some awesome parties. They also have “chatterbox” opportunities to receive products to test and review without having to host a party. The chatterbox opportunities are far more limited than the party host opportunities but always keep an eye out for both types of ways to participate. The house parties are great, they send you a box full with all kinds of goodies to make your party great and there are always coupons to purchase the specified products (usually for free) or they will include the products in the package. There are also always plenty of extra goodies to make the party fun but also to give away to your guests to take home. I have been lucky enough to host about 5 parties in less than a year and have learned about so many great new products so I definitely suggest signing up.

This time I was selected to host a Kikkoman Kids party for all of my son and all of his friends and cousins.

The party pack included:

We hosted our party at our

house and invited over friends and family to enjoy some kids cooking time with Kikkoman products.  We started off the party by coloring our awesome aprons so that each of us could show off our own style for cooking time.  This part was super fun to see each persons creativity.  In the recipe booklets that we received with the sample pack, there was a recipe to make teriyaki meatballs and I thought that would be a great idea for kids to learn to make something.  There was also the recipe for the corn on the cob but we tried that with the adult Kikkoman grilling party and it did not turn out as well as we would have liked so my son and I chose not to do that one again.  For the meatballs, I went to Costco and purchased a large pack of ground beef then separated it into 1lb packages for each person to use to make meatballs.  I also went to the Dollar Tree and picked up a variety of dishes and pans so that everyone had their own separate cooking station.  The group of kids that showed up for the party were all boys and they were all unsure about cooking at first but I assured them that they could do it and by the end I think they had a bit of fun.  Certainly the youngest had fun and he enjoyed the meatballs for a snack.  The meatballs were super easy to make which was great as the oldest kid is only 8 years old and they cooked pretty fast but the kids did get bored in between and ran off to play Pokemon cards.  I think that the adults enjoyed the flavor of the meatballs more than the kids did but they each said that they were ok.  Overall, we thought this was a super fun party to host and the kids had a blast getting together while I loved getting to teach them something new.  

One of the boys did not want to cook so I told him "you will want to know how to cook something because one day you will have a girlfriend and you will want to cook her a dinner and stuff" after
which he tells me "no way, I don't want no girls, I'm just going to hang with cousins".

KY Social Network_ Natural Feeling Personal Lubricant _Free Sample

I signed up for the KY Social Sharing Network community which is an awesome place where you have the chance to collaborate with other like-minded individuals in discussions and missions. The sharing can be as personal as you wish it to be and you do not have to share any sensitive information which could be involved with this subject. This time I was selected to participate in a mission that involved receiving and testing a new product.  This can be a little tricky with sharing so I will stick to my thoughts based on my observations while unboxing and opening the product.

• 1 (1.69 fl. oz) bottle of KY Natural Feeling Personal Lubricant with Aloe Vera 

This personal lubricant seemed really nice from what I have seen so far from opening the package, and I love that it has Aloe in it.  The lubricant does not have a scent which is nice and it was a liquidy consistency rather than having a sticky feeling like some lubricants can.  Although it was more of a liquid consistency it was thick enough that it did not come pouring out of the bottle which was also appreciated because it didn't make a large mess.  As with most lubricant just a bit goes a long way so this bottle will last a while and I think I would definitely consider purchasing this in the future after having tried it.  I would certainly recommend giving it a try.

My Magazine _Back to School Mission_Free Samples

I signed up for the Kroger My Magazine Sharing Network community which is an awesome place where you have the chance to collaborate with other like-minded individuals in discussions and missions. Through the missions you are asked to share about the community and your experience with the products on your social media outlets and also in person with friends and family. Sometimes the missions offer a free sample to try and then share about while others require sharing with the chance of winning a prize. I definitely suggest you check out the Kroger My Magazine Community because it’s a great time.

This time I was selected to participate in the Back to School mission to help get back into the swing of things with school starting back up for the year.  In this sample pack I received a lot of coupons and unfortunately all of them had expiration dates right after I opened the package so I had to make some quick decisions and had little time to share the coupons beyond leaving them on the shelf at the store.  I have had this complaint in the past about the My Magazine missions that the coupon dates are not far enough in the future.  I have also noticed that the missions seem to correspond to the themed sales in the stores and often the products for the mission are also on sale.  This is great for saving money for the mission but it can be difficult to find the products required as they are often sold out.

The Lunchbox: The lunchbox is awesome for me to take to work since my son is a bit embarrassed to take this one to school with him.  My son typically gets a hot lunch at school so often does not take a lunch with him and he has a Pokemon lunchbox that he uses so does not like this one but it is a great item for me for work.  It is obvious that this is someones lunch rather than putting it in a plastic bag so I don't run the risk that someone might accidentally take my lunch from the office refrigerator.  I also like that it has two pockets so that I can separate some items into the front if I do not want them getting crushed with the rest of my food.  This box also has great insulation, I have about an hour drive from home to the office and this keeps my food cold the whole time.  I would definitely look into purchasing Kroger brand lunch boxes and coolers in the future based on my experience with this one.  

Market & Mill Bread: I was unable to get this bread because my store apparently does not carry the Kroger Market and Mill bread.  I asked the worker if I could purchase another Kroger bread in replacement but the very unfriendly manager was on duty that day and would not allow me to do so.  I would definitely have liked to try this bread as it looked great in the pictures I saw but I will just have to wait and see if my store ever carries it.  I was surprised that my store did not have it because we typically are the store that tries out all of the new products so it is strange for us to not have a product but I guess this one is carried at other Kroger locations around the country and not King Soopers where I shop.  

Kroger Sandwich Baggies: This was an amazing deal on the baggies, I read the coupon details several times over to be sure I was doing the right thing but it said ANY SIZE.  Thanks to the Any Size detail, I was able to get a 180ct package of sandwich baggies for my family.  I have been very impressed with these baggies, in the last few years I have felt that the quality of Ziploc brand baggies has gone downhill and the often rip or leak but I have not had any issue with these Kroger bags so far.  I have not used them enough to go so far as to say they are much better than Ziploc but they are certainly equivalent in quality in my opinion.  

Kroger Fruit Snacks: I chose not to purchase these because we typically purchase large quantities of fruit snacks from Costco or Sams Club and the coupons provided did not give enough savings to make this a great deal.  When my son was younger we did purchase these quite often and I love that they are often themed for the holidays making it exciting for the kids, they have a great taste and we loved them but they just do not have the right price for quantity options in comparison to bulk purchase stores.  

Kroger Carrot Snack Packs : I thought these packs were so cute and I thought they would be great for the family but in reality they are not as practical as they seem.  Plain carrots are not the greatest and my son struggles to have time and space to have carrots with dip at school so that didn't work out for us.  As for myself, I often have carrots with ranch dip at work but found these little packages to be too small for the quantity I wanted.  I think for myself it is easier and a better deal to just purchase a regular bag of carrots and serve the amount I want each day.  This is where the lunchbox comes in handy to store my bag of carrots in the work refrigerator.

Overall we love Kroger products, and we already knew we did, so this was an awesome mission to participate in!

Smiley360_Kaboom Foamtastic Bathroom Cleaner_ Free Sample

This time, I was selected to participate in the Kaboom Foamtastic bathroom cleaner mission.  

In the free sample pack I received:

I used the Kaboom Foamtastic to clean, well obviously, my bathroom and it was awesome. This cleaner contains Oxi Clean stain fighters which I am sure help contribute to the awesome cleaning effects of this product.  I have always loved all Oxi Xlean products that I have tried in the past and this is no exception.  The spray comes out as a foam and to my surprise it had a very wide spray to it.  I quickly learned that I should stand back a bit to spray and allow it to reach a larger area.  This also sprays on blue but then turns white when the surface is clean.  I sort of liked this effect but I found it more difficult to know where I had scrubbed and hadn't than if it were to just stay blue.  I thought the cleaning effects of this were great in comparison to my usual cleaner,  I did not have to scrub as hard to get all of the soap scum off of my shower and if left the area looking nice and clean.  I also liked that the scent was not terribly overpowering, it was not great but it was not as strong as other cleaners I have used so that was appreciated.  The thing I liked most about this cleaner is that it did not seem to leave the shower feeling slippery after I rinsed off the remaining cleaner.  Often the shower is slippery after it is first cleaner and I worry about my family possibly slipping so I appreciated that this did not leave that effect.  I absolutely would purchase this cleanser again in the future when the bottle I received runs out.

Lays Kettle Cooked Chips - Original: I myself tried these for a midnight snack one evening and I definitely liked them.  They were quite a bit softer and did not seem to be as "Kettle Cooked" as other Kettle Cooked chips I typically purchase but they were about the same crunchiness as a regular lays potato chip.  I usually like sea salt flavor but the original salt flavor on these was great and just what I was looking for for that snack. I see these at my local King Soopers and they are typically the same price as the regular Lays chips so they are reasonably priced but the package is smaller so it might just be a better idea to get the regular Lays.  

Keebler Chips Deluxe Cookies: These cookies are awesome and I purchase them frequently so they were a welcomed snack in our home.  I usually purchase a variety pack at Costco or Sams Club that includes these cookies and my whole family loves them.  Through this mission I also realized that my local Kroger store (King Soopers) has a variety pack that includes these as well so I might have to pick up that one, one of these days. They make a great snack to take for lunches or on the road for a snack while we drive.  

Kleenex Wet Wipes: I have used these Kleenex wet wipes to clean up our hands and faces after eating some snacks and they worked really well.  I liked how soft they were and they were fairly durable but for the cost I think I would be happy sticking to my usual store brand wet wipes.  I typically purchase the Equate baby wipes from Walmart to keep in my car and around the house to clean up and they work very well.  I thought these were comparable but for the price the Walmart wipes are a much better deal.

McCormick Grill Mates Mesquite flavor: I found a large variety of the McCormick Grill Mates seasonings at my local King Soopers and I ended up deciding to choose the Mesquite flavor.  I chose this flavor because it looked like it would be very tasty on chicken breast and I make a ton of chicken breast for my mom who is frequently dieting.  One evening I made some chicken breast on the grill and coated the breasts in the seasoning before grilling them.  The chicken came out awesome, I absolutely loved the flavor and so did the rest of my family.  My husband is not a big chicken eater but I noticed that he finished his food and my son asked not only for seconds but thirds so he must have loved it too.  After I purchased this seasoning I noticed that I already had another flavor of the McCormick Grill Mates seasoning on the spice rack so I am excited to try that one next time.  These seasonings are amazing and well worth the cost; I thought they were very inexpensive at $2.29.

This time I was selected to participate in a mission for their Charcoal Toothpaste.





In the sample pack I received:

I was super surprised about what I thought about this Charcoal toothpaste, I was very skeptical at first but after using it I think I really love it.  I felt the joy of a little kid learning to brush their teeth with this toothpaste, it helped me to know which areas I was brushing well because it left black toothpaste all over my teeth.  After brushing well, it also helped me to know how much I needed to rinse my mouth to get out all of the toothpaste.  I kept spitting black toothpaste out of my mouth much longer than I would have expected and I would imagine that I always have a lot of remaining toothpaste in my mouth, I just usually don't notice it with the white toothpaste.  I think I liked this toothpaste purely for that feature of knowing how well I have brushed and and rinsed.  As for the toothpaste effects, I did not notice anything above and beyond that of any other toothpaste and I did not notice really any whitening effects in the short time I have used it.  As I said, I was skeptical at first but I think I will continue purchasing this toothpaste in the future and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone thinking of trying it or unsure of their brushing technique.
