I just received my first free item and I was not expecting it, the information card inside indicates that it was a winning from another one of the missions I participated in through the community.  The sample was a full size 30ct box of Culturelle Kids Probiotics chewables in Natural Bursting Berry flavor.

My son has tried these for a few days so far and says that they taste great and make him feel good! When he first tried them, he really liked the flavor and said that these are delicious and has not minded taking them since.  I am definitely interested in the immune support as this year has been a bit of a struggle with getting sick and he is hoping they help with his digestive health.  He said "oh yeah I need that, have you seen my poops"

Generation Good - Tampons (Free Sample)

I was selected by the Generation Good Sharing Network from Seventh Generation to sample and review some Seventh Generation tampons with plastic applicators.  I had previously tried some of the Seventh Generation Tampons with the cardboard applicator and was not impressed, in fact I hated them.

This is not the prettiest conversation to have but all ladies know the struggle. All of my life I have used the same tampons and absolutely hate to deviate from the norm, I have never found another that I like as much.  The issues range from the applicator to the feel of the cotton tampon when inserted. I was nervous to use these based on previous experiences and saved them for an emergency situation when I ran out of my regular favorites. When I finally did use these, I was so incredibly surprised at how much I liked these.  The applicator was nice and plastic and worked well and the cotton tampon when inserted did not feel like it was really there which is what I like.  It allowed me to move freely without feeling restricted and seemed to provide even greater leak protection than my usual favorites.  

I told my husband about Seventh Generation and their fight for accurate labeling on feminine hygiene products and their drive for a safe product for women to use in their most sensitive areas.  After having told my husband about this and how much I liked the sample tampons, he insisted that I purchase these from now on rather than my usual brand.  I definitely agree with him that it is worth a little extra money to know what I am using is better for me especially if I like them more.  

My usual brand runs about $5.49 for a 34count box and these Seventh Generation Tampons run about $6.99 for an 18count box.  These Seventh Generation Tampons about about double the price but I still agree with hubby that it is worth it for a better product.

Free Ring Sizer Tool from Blue Nile

Hello Everyone,

I signed up to receive a free ring sizer tool from Blue Nile, the tool came with a sizing guide to help with the process and some information about diamonds.  Having a ring sizer around is super helpful for when you want to order something online especially.  Last year I needed one to figure out my sisters ring size so that I could order her a couple of those Fragrant Jewels bath bombs with the rings inside.  At that time we went to the jewelry store together and just played around because I actually needed a ring made smaller at that time so it worked out perfectly but it would have been more helpful to have had a sizer like this at home.  This sizer says that you can pop out the pieces to do the sizing but I think it works just fine to keep the pieces intact and just stick your fingers through to find the size, that way it may be reused and pieces wont get lost.

How to find your ring size: 
Measuring your ring size: 

1. Locate the size number on each plastic ring 
2. remove any of the pre-sized plastic rings to try on
3. slide each ring over your finger.  The proper size will fit comfortably snug, but slide loosely over the knuckle. 

Tips for finding the correct size: 

1. measure your finger at the end of the day, when fingers are warm. 
2. Alternate between the two best fitting rings 3 to 4 times to find your true fit.

Thoughts: 

This mascara runs for a price of $26 from Marc Jacobs and Sephora and in my opinion it is worth the price.  In the past I have not thought there was all that much difference in mascara, but I guess that is because I have only ever use what I can pick up at my local Walmart.  Well, there is definitely a difference and this stuff is fabulous.  You cannot see in side of the mascara tube obviously but when pulling out the brush it sounds and looks like there is an abundance of mascara material in the tube making me think this should last quite a while which I appreciate, especially for that price when my typical Walmart mascara only costs $4.  I liked the feel of the mascara when I put it on, it certianly did add volume to my lashes and seemed to improve the look of the length as well.  I also appreciated that it did not clump up nor feel heavy on my lashes.  I have been subscribing to the Ipsy and Sephora Play! boxes and have tried a couple of other high end mascaras that I did not like at all so I was super glad that this one is so nice.

My Thoughts:

 I am unsure of what may be wrong with my knees as I have not been to a doctor for them but they cause me pain every winter. I also wanted to try this brace in hopes that I could recommend it to my boss who has been struggling with various knee issues for more than a year now and I would love to help her in any way possible. I am a small size woman so I decided to order the small size knee brace for myself to test it out.  The knee brace arrived promptly and I filmed a video while opening and trying it on for the first time.  This Knee brace had two types of instructions for how to use the brace; one was how to wear it as a knee brace while the other was for a patella knee brace.  The difference depended on how the strap was wrapped around the leg.  The Brace included both the cloth sleeve that went over the knee and the strap. I thought the cloth sleeve part of the brace was very tight even for a small person such as myself.  If you are a normal sized woman or larger I would suggest purchasing at least medium size or large; the small size is more of a youth size in my opinion.  I understand that the brace should be tight and that is part of the process with this brace but after some time it did seem to begin cutting off circulation to the lower part of my leg and foot and I did not have the strap wrapped tight.  I have learned that wearing the small size in short 1 hour sessions is helpful for my knee but also doesn't seem to cause any blood flow issues.  I have tried wearing the brace in both ways according to the instructions and I find the Patella Knee Brace method to be the most helpful to reduce pain for my situation. As for the quality, I thought this brace was fantastic and much better than some I have purchased in store for a much higher cost. It was a much better quality than I had expected.  Both the cloth on the sleeve and the strap were soft and moved freely with my movements so that I was not walking funny and causing pain in other body parts. I can definitely say that the claim of non slip support is accurate, this brace did not move from its original position at all which was much appreciated, I have another one that ends up around my ankle any time I walk around no matter how tight I wrap it. I also like that it was slim and I am able to wear it under most of the pants that I have with the exception of skinny jeans/pants.  Hubby was so jealous of this brace that I think we will be ordering a few more for him and my mom with the awesome coupon codes they have provided on amazon. Hubby is a mechanic and can definitely use some knee support so he is wanting 2 knee braces while for my mom I am thinking she could use a knee brace to try out but definitely needs to try the plantar fasciitis sock with ankle brace strap.  I would certainly recommend this brace to anyone, it is a great price and seems to work well so far.

On Amazon right now (1/23) it shows a original cost of $19.99 for 1 knee brace but they are currently on sale for $9.98.

Generation Good - Seventh Generation Feminine Hygiene (Free Sample)

I was selected by the Generation Good Sharing Network by Seventh Generation to receive a free sample of some Feminine Hygiene products to test and review. Seventh Generation has fought for better accuracy for labeling of feminine hygiene products so that women know what they are putting in their most sensitive areas. The information card says "did you know the average woman uses up to 16,000 tampons in a lifetime?" That definitely makes you think, you want to know what is in the products you are using when you use that many.

In the sample pack I received:
1 box of cardboard applicator tampons (2 Regular, 1 Super)
1 box of pads (1 Regular ultra thin pad with wings, 1 regular maxi pad, and 1 overnight maxi pad with wings)

Thoughts on the Tampons: I did not like these tampons at all.  I already know that I do not like tampons with cardboard applicators and only use in an absolute emergency so I saved these for an emergency situation.  After using these, my hatred for cardboard applicators was solidified.  They were super uncomfortable to insert and that discomfort led to further discomfort when the tampon was inserted because it was not fully where it needed to be.  I appreciate the dedication to making sure the product is safe for women but I would not purchase these just due to the discomfort.

Thoughts on the Pads: I thought the pads were nice although they all seemed to be thicker than I would have expected. Even the regular size was more think like the super size that I used after I had my son.  As far as the absorbency they were great and left no trace of wet feeling or stickiness which I very much appreciated.  The thing I really did not like those was how adhesive the pads were to your clothing.  This adhesiveness was great to help with security and the pad did not move around at all which was great but they were a little bit to adhesive and were difficult to remove from underwear. I really had to pull with some force to get the pad off of my unders which was not enjoyable at all.  I think they need to make some improvements on how well these stick, there is a fine line between having enough security versus having it stuck on there for life.  I would consider purchasing these again but would like to see am improvement in the adhesiveness, I want my pad to stick well but come off easy.
